Wall Street closes at a record for the first time since end of January
Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.40% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 3.82% or 0.61 points to trade at 16.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Acciona (BME:ANA) added 3.18% or 3.90 points to end at 126.50 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) was up 2.78% or 0.10 points to 3.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Logista (BME:LOG), which fell 8.39% or 2.58 points to trade at 28.18 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) declined 3.16% or 1.09 points to end at 33.41 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was down 0.91% or 0.02 points to 2.62.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 122 to 67 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.31% or 43.30 to $3,349.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.27% or 0.76 to hit $60.67 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.23% or 0.77 to trade at $63.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 100.14.
